Gettysburg HomeFront’s
homepage. Our small group of friends are from throughout
Central Pennsylvania and Baltimore areas is promoting dances and exciting activities in the Gettysburg
area—a rich heritage reaching beyond the Civil War! Some of our activities listed below will be sponsored by us;
whereas, other dances and activities will also be included. If you are a history buff, enthusiast,
dancer, or just want to come out for a good time in a friendly atmosphere, come to one of the events listed in
the calendar of events. The calendar will be periodically updated, so check us out often!
The small town of Gettysburg is much more than where the High-Water Mark for the Confederacy. The area dates
back to the early 1780s when James Getty founded the crossroads town intersecting emerging towns like Hagerstown,
Frederick, York and Harrisburg. President Dwight Eisenhower’s working farm borders the Gettysburg National
Battlefield Park. Millions of visitors come each year to visit the National Park and surrounding
landscape. Today, Gettysburg is becoming a cultural center for theatre, lectures, dances and other
social activities. If you haven’t been to Gettysburg lately, come back and enjoy the fun and the
relive our American hertiage!
